Ontario International Education Opportunity Scholarship

The University of Toronto is pleased to advise that the Government of Ontario has allocated the funding to create 201 Ontario International Education Opportunity Scholarships for students completing part of their academic program abroad through the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities' International Strategy. This scholarship will provide eligible students with financial support for an eligible period of academic study, work term or co-op placement outside of Canada.

Eligibility Requirements

1) Students must be Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents of Canada, or a Protected Person.

2) Students who are in an international program for academic credit that is more than 4 weeks in length. Preference will be given to students whose program is longer than two months.

3) Demonstrated financial need and a good academic standing.

4) The following candidates will be given special consideration:

  • Aboriginal students
  • Francophone students
  • Students with Disabilities

5) A student is not eligible to apply if they are participating in a Government of Ontario sponsored exchange program eg. Ontario-Baden Wurttemberg.

Award Value:

$1,250 for programs between 4 and 8 weeks
$2,500 for programs longer than 8 weeks
